Washington State Board for Community & Technical Colleges (SBCTC)

The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) — led by a nine-member governor-appointed board — advocates, coordinates and directs Washington State’s system of 34 public community and technical colleges.

Academic Year Reports

Provide a snapshot of funding, facilities, staffing, and enrollments in community and technical colleges for one academic year. The Academic Year Reports describe key measures of student outcomes and addresses common questions related to expenditures, personnel and students.

Fall Quarter Enrollment & Staffing Reports

Offer a snapshot of community and technical colleges fall quarter enrollments. The Fall Quarter Enrollment and Staffing Reports address common questions about the college system, including student demographics.

Enrollment & Allocation Reports

Compiled quarterly and are used for FTE target monitoring of various programs throughout the academic year. The annual Enrollment & Allocation Reports give an overall view of the data and explains trends in context.

Bureau of Labor Statistics

The Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor is the principal Federal agency responsible for measuring labor market activity, working conditions, and price changes in the economy. Its mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate essential economic information to support public and private decision-making. As an independent statistical agency, BLS serves its diverse user communities by providing products and services that are objective, timely, accurate, and relevant.

Employment Security Department (ESD)

The mission of the Employment Security Department (ESD) is to connect employers and job seekers – supporting transitions to new jobs and empowering careers. They provide information about unemployment, jobs & training, employer taxes, and labor market info.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System. It is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). IPEDS gathers information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution that participates in the federal student financial aid programs. The data provided allow users to analyze trends related to student enrollment, dollars expended, degrees earned, and staff employed, and offers a way to compare colleges based on these metrics. The data collected include information on: enrollment, degrees awarded, retention, graduation, fiscal resources, institutional prices, financial aid, and faculty/staff.

National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education in the U.S. and other nations. NCES is located within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences. NCES fulfills a Congressional mandate to collect, collate, analyze, and report complete statistics on the condition of American education; conduct and publish reports; and review and report on education activities internationally.

Office of Financial Management (OFM)

The Office of Financial Management (OFM) provides vital information, fiscal services and policy support that the Governor, Legislature and state agencies need to serve the people of Washington State.  As part of its core mission, the OFM performs research and analysis on a vast array of topics. 

  • OFM worked with the six public universities and colleges to create the Statewide Public Four-Year Dashboard. This centralized dashboard that displays a number of accountability measures, such as, graduation rates and the time it takes to complete a bachelor’s degree for each institution and statewide.
  • The State-Funded Enrollment Reports shows quarter/semester/annual average Full Time Equivalent (FTE) enrollment for four-year institutions derived from the Higher Education Enrollment Report (HEER) tenth day report.

Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County (WDC)

The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County (WDC) is a nonprofit workforce grant-making organization that oversees employment-related programs for youth, the adult workforce and employers in King County, with the goal of a strong economy and self-sufficiency for every resident.

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is the primary agency charged with overseeing K-12 public education in Washington State. The School Report Card is a parent-friendly resource for data on student demographics, student performance and school staff in our state. The new Comprehensive Education Data and Research System (CEDARS) is an online system that captures every district's data on courses, students and teachers.

Washington State Education Research & Data Center (ERDC) compiles data about students as they move through school to the workforce.

Economic Modeling Specialists Inc. (EMSI) specializes in employment data and economic analysis, especially in for higher education institutions. Using massive amounts of data on various industries, employment fields, job skills, demographics and education level, they are able to produce analysis that can help institutions understand the local and national employment market.
