Located on an 87-acre hilltop overlooking Elliott Bay, South Seattle Community College offers a panoramic view of the city skyline and surrounding mountains. This unique setting serves as a portal of opportunity for students with diverse needs to prepare to meet their educational and career goals. You can also train as an apprentice or learn new sustainability and "green" techniques at our 13-acre Georgetown Campus.

Olympic Hall houses classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs, a 150 seat auditorium and a new home for the Continuing Education department. Students taking night classes have easy access to parking and the facilities.

South Seattle Community College Welding Program

Welding Program

Metal fabrication and welding are stock tools of many trades. In U.S. industry, the demand for trained weld fabricators continues to rise in the small shop setting. Training includes all facets of welding and fabrication operations including planning operation sequence, applying knowledge of geometry, heat effects and metal properties, positioning, fitting, welding and material handling. Besides classrooms, offices for Educational Talent Search, Upward Bound, APPLE Parenting and Parent Cooperative Preschools are located here. An SSCC Parent Cooperative Preschool is also in the Rainier Hall.

The Automotive Technology program provides students with up-to-date, technologically advanced training equipment and facilities through the continued support of industry manufacturers and local dealers. Automotive Collision Repair Program

South Seattle Community College NATEF/ASE Certified Automotive Collision program offers state-of-the-art equipment and laboratories in which the students learn the modern principles of unibody design and automotive refinishing. Employment opportunities for this field are promising, since the need for well-trained automotive collision technicians increases as new auto designs have body parts made of steel alloys, aluminum and plastics. South Seattle Community College Diesel Engine Repair

Diesel Engine Repair

The revised program curriculum offers up-to-date training through classroom lectures and laboratory experiences. The program is designed so that students may complete a prescribed sequence of training, earn a certificate then enter employment or continue for completion of the Associate of Applied Science Degree.

South Seattle Community College Veterans Affairs Office

Veterans Affairs

The Veterans Affairs program provides assistance regarding veteran-entitled benefits, such as preparing VA application forms and documentation required by the Department of Veterans Affairs. We also provide assistance in documenting military training for college credit.
