PROGRAM NAME: WCCCSA Berlin Spring 2016

PROGRAM DATES: March 24, 2016 – June 3, 2016

APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 18, 2015 for group flight; January 15, 2016 for individual transportation to Berlin


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Spend the quarter studying in the great capital city of Berlin. Berlin is a major political, financial and cultural center and through the WCCCSA study abroad program, you can take in its museums, historic buildings and culinary experiences with a subsidized program of cultural activities.

PROGRAM FEES: Based on an enrollment of 25 or more participants, for the services specified above, the fee per person is $6,897. This fee excludes airfare, a $250 refundable damage deposit, optional insurance upgrades, passport or visa fees, meals other than those listed, personal expenses, tuition, textbooks, additional field trips or excursions required by the WCCCSA faculty and anything not specified. These fees are guaranteed not to change as a result of fluctuations in the exchange rate.


• Housing in centrally located multi-bedded apartments.
• Travel pass for use on the buses, trams, S-bahn and U-bahn trains in zones A and B.
• Orientation program on-site in Berlin including an orientation meeting with AIFS staff, information packet, welcome dinner and half-day guided sightseeing tour of Berlin by private bus.
• On-site AIFS Program Coordinator for information, personal advising/counseling and 24-hour emergency contact service.
• Program of free and subsidized cultural activities such as a “Kaffee und Kuche” boat cruise along the River Spree, guided tour of the East Side Gallery, sporting event and brewery tour.  • Entrance to the Mauer Museum at Checkpoint Charlie.
• Guided tour of the Reichstag.
• Guided day trip to Potsdam including a guided tour of Cecilienhof Palace and admission to Sansoucci Palace.
• Visit and guided tour of Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp.
• $50 non-refundable application fee.
• Student medical and program fee refund insurance policies.

Optional Transportation Package
On a space-available basis, students may purchase the optional transportation package consisting of round-trip airfare (Seattle – Berlin– Seattle) and round-trip transfers overseas between the airport and the housing in Berlin for an additional $TBC excluding mandatory U.S. government and airline-imposed departure taxes, fees and fuel surcharges of $TBC

Optional Prague Excursion
An optional 3-day, 2-night excursion to Prague will be offered for a supplemental fee of $TBC per participant. Included in the price is a round-trip train ticket between Berlin and Prague, accommodation in a centrally located hostel in multi0bedded rooms with daily breakfast, guided walking tour of Prague with entrance to Prague Castle, Jewish Quarter walking tour and traditional Czech group dinner. A minimum of 10 students must participate for the excursion to be offered.
