SSCC Preschool & Child Care Center
The South Seattle Community College Preschool and Child Care Center has been serving the diverse needs of SSCC families since 1976. It is a state-certified center and is funded in part by college and student funds. The center is a place where children can develop positive attitudes about themselves and others, participate in age-appropriate learning experiences and opportunities, gain skills to deal with life situations and develop knowledge about their world while their parents pursue educational and professional goals.
SSCC's Preschool and Child Care Center was built in 1992 with children in mind. It is conveniently located on campus adjacent to the South Parking lot in Building 148. The center has large classroom spaces, a parent area, and an outdoor learning environment that includes climbing structures, bike path, gardening area, and a covered play area.
Ages and How To Enroll
SSCC students and employees with children between the ages of 18 months - 9 years old (primarily serve 18 months to age 5) are eligible to apply for enrollment. Enrollment is based on the number of spaces available and the parent's schedule. Children are enrolled on a pre-arranged, reserved schedule. Applications for enrollment are handled through the Child Care Office in Building 148. We welcome telephone inquiries and in-person visits.
A limited number of spaces for non-SSCC- affiliated community members may be offered depending on space availability. Please contact us for more information.
Hours of the center are 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Child Care hours may vary during summer quarter and during quarter breaks. Please check with us regarding current hours and closure dates.
All schedules are pre-reserved for the quarter, and we do require a minimum number of enrollment hours per week. Please check our fees schedule for current cost information and our flexible scheduling options.
