TEST - EMERGENCY MESSAGE - TEST
On January 2, 2014, the NEW 2014 Version, computer-based, GED® test was introduced nationwide.
If you started GED® testing with the 2002 Version (given 2002-2013) and did not complete your certificate, you will need to start again in the current, 2014 version.
Register, prepare, take Official Practice Tests, and schedule tests at: www.ged.com
You will need an email account and be able to pay with a debit, credit, or pre-paid debit card available for purchase at merchants.
You may take the GED® tests if:
Register at www.ged.com. Your email address will be your username. Create a password you will remember.
Once registered, you’ll have access to MyGED, your tool for GED® testing. At this site, you can study, schedule or reschedule your tests, check your scores, and learn about jobs and college after passing your GED® tests.
When ready to schedule, you will need a debit or credit card at the payment screen. If you have only cash, purchase a pre-paid debit card from a merchant. (There will be a nominal one-time fee.) Each test is $30.

At your MyGED, go to the “Study” link for tools and free sample questions.
Also at MyGED, you may take the official practice tests, GED Ready, for $6.00 each. Your score will give you a good idea if you are ready to take the operational test at a Testing Center. Your results will give feedback on your answers, with direction in how to improve your areas of weakness.
You may wish to enroll in a GED® (day or evening) preparation class at SSC. Call the Basic & Transitional Studies Office at 206-934-5363 for information. These classes fill quickly; register on the Registration day and attend the Orientation to enroll. The fee is $25.00 per quarter.
Similar GED® preparation classes are offered at our New Holly site (day only).
If you find paper or online preparation materials on your own, be certain that they are for the 2014 Series GED® Tests, NOT the 2002 Series.
Watch the Computer Based Test Tutorial, so you will know how to manipulate the online test.
Familiarize yourself with the basics of the TI-30XS calculator. There are many You Tube videos available with a "How to use the TI-30XS calculator" search.
View a tutorial on the TI-30XS calculator (you will be able to use this calculator onscreen during all but 5 Math questions and for a few questions on the Social Studies and Science tests)
