How to Order your South Seattle Transcript


Transferring Credits to South for Transcript Evaluation

New students at South who have attended other colleges or universities may have their transcripts evaluated for transfer credits. As soon as application to SSC in a specific program is made and transcripts from other institutions are received, an Incoming Academic Transcript Evaluation application may be submitted.

Transferring Military Credit to South Seattle College

As a Military Friendly School, South Seattle College (SSC) enables service members to earn maximum credit for military training and education. Depending on your training and the program you pursue, SSC can apply college credit to your degree/certificate.

Listed below are the documents we'll need in order to process your request. Please click on the hyperlinks for specific information to print the request form and obtain your records.

  • A completed request submitted to South Seattle College, 6000  16th Avenue SW, Attn:  Evaluations Office RSB-045, Seattle, WA 98106.  The request can be printed from our website
  • For service members and veterans of the U.S. Army we’ll need a Joint Services Transcript (JST).
  • For service members and veterans of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, we’ll need a Joint Services Transcript (JST) .
  • For service members and veterans of the U.S. Air Force, we’ll need a transcript from Air University (formerly the Community College of the Air Force).
  • For service members and veterans of the U.S. Coast Guard, we’ll need a Joint Services Transcript (JST).
  • For service members who left the military before 1986, the College can apply credit from a notarized DD 214 form.

In most cases you'll be informed via email of the results of your evaluation within 3 weeks of our receipt of all documents (during peak times it can take longer).

Ordering an Official Transcript

  • Before ordering an official transcript, be sure your grades and/or degree have been posted. You may check by visiting our website.
  • Please note that transcript requests will not be processed until all holds have been removed and all outstanding bills have been paid.
  • Transcript requests are processed within 72 hours upon receipt of your Transcript Request Form. Transcript requests received during peak times (end of quarter) will be processed within 7 business days following receipt of your request form.
  • Students may also order expedited transcripts.
  • We do not accept transcript orders by telephone.
  • You may authorize someone else to pick up your transcript by including the following information on your Transcript Request Form or on a separate note included with your order:
    1. Your name and student identification number.
    2. The full name of the person designated to pick up the transcript. They will need to present government issued photo identification.
    3. Number of transcript copies they are authorized to pick up.
    4. Your signature.
    5. This information must be included with your Transcript Request Form when presented in person, faxed or emailed as a PDF to the Registration Office.

Order Online

  • The National Student Clearinghouse is the authorized processing agent for the Seattle Community College District for transcripts ordered online.
  • Priority processing is given to those transcripts ordered through the Clearinghouse.
  • National Student Clearinghouse transcripts cost $6.75 per transcript. Fees must be paid with a credit card.
  • Order multiple transcripts any time of day and track your order by email or text alerts.

Fax, Mail or Emailed PDF

  • To order your official transcript by fax, mail or emailed PDF, complete a combined Transcript Request/Credit Card Payment Form.
  • Be sure to sign the appropriate form(s). Unsigned forms will NOT be processed. Electronic signatures will not be accepted.
  • Include a form of payment. Transcripts ordered by mail may be paid for by check or credit card. Transcripts ordered by fax or email must include a credit card authorization.

In Person

  • In person requests should be submitted, for payment, to Cashiering in the Registration Office in the Robert Smith Building.
  • The cost of a transcript is $4.50 per copy. (July 1, 2016 it is going up to $7.50)
  • Transcripts can be picked up in person or mailed to your home, or other address. You must provide the complete mailing address with your request.

In Person Expedited Transcript

  • You may also order an expedited transcript for $15.00. The order must be placed in person at the Registration Office in the Robert Smith Building and transcripts must be picked up in person. Expedited transcripts will be available for pick up at 4:00 pm for orders placed by 12:00 pm. Orders placed after 12:00 pm will be available at 9:00 am the following business day.

Transcript Fee

  • $4.50 per transcript when ordered in-person, by mail, fax or by emailed PDF
  • $6.75 per transcript when ordered online through the National Student Clearing House
  • $15.00 per expedited transcript

Unofficial Transcripts

  • Unofficial transcripts may be viewed on our website.
  • Students and alumni may access unofficial transcripts as often as needed without charge.
