Running Start COMPASS Testing
Call the Testing Center at (206) 768-6767 to see when tests are given or visit the Student Assessment Services web page.
Achieving college-level scores on the Writing and Reading portions of the test will qualify a student to take 100-level or above classes, except for Math. All prerequisites must be met, or the student must have the permission of the instructor. To see practice versions of the COMPASS test, visit the Student Assessment Services web page.
Students who did not qualify at college-level on the Math part of the test are encouraged to continue in Math at their high school so that their Math skills will progress to the college-level. Universities are becoming more competitive in their admission criteria and look favorably at applicants who continue in Math through their high school senior year.
When you come to campus to take your test, bring your high school ID and your Social Security Number to Registration to get your Student Identification Number. Then come to the Running Start office in order to receive a first-test-free voucher. The scores are available immediately following the test.
