Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Hospitality Management

South Seattle Community College’s proposal for a four-year baccalaureate degree is one of four such programs selected to be piloted in a new initiative authorized by the state legislature for the state’s community and technical colleges. Our proposal for a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Hospitality took more than a year to develop, and has strong support from community members and the hospitality industry.

The program received approval from the State Board for Community Technical Colleges at its April meeting, and will now be reviewed by the State Higher Education Coordinating Board and the college’s accrediting agency, the Northwest Association of Colleges and Universities. A formal presentation was made to an evaluation committee in March 2006, which reviewed proposals from six colleges.
