Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) Program

Program Overview

The Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) program offers preparation for immediate entry-level employment in long-term care and/or home health agencies as well as in hospitals. The program includes theory, skills lab and clinical hours in basic nursing care skills, body mechanics, personal care, communication, and interpersonal skills.

This program is approved by the Washington State Department of Health as a Nursing Assistant Training program. Nursing Assistant students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the Washington State Nursing Assistant certification examination.

  • This one-quarter program is usually offered four times per year - fall, winter, spring, and summer quarters.
  • The NAC program helps prepare students for the Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification test for an entry-level position in the health care field.
  • Strict attendance guidelines apply to this program.
  • The course covers basic care, following procedures, controlling infections, safety and emergency preparedness, restorative care, and dealing with death and dying. * NAC program projected costs.
  • Graduates of this program find work as home health aides, registered nursing assistants, certified nursing assistants and patient care technicians. These positions can be located in long term care facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, etc
