Prerequisites    (Information updated January 2008)

• Current CNA License.
• Passing scores on the COMPASS or ESL/COMPASS exam are required for enrollment into the LPN program pre-nursing courses.
• A student does not have to take an assessment test if he or she has submitted an official transcript to SSCC listing college-level English 101 and Math 102/107 with grades of 2.0 or higher. (Read about transfering credits and transcript evaluation.)

Complete the Following General Education Nursing Requirements

• The minimum acceptable grade for any General Education Course is 2.0
• The minimum cumulative GPA to be awarded the Certificate in Practical Nursing is 2.0
• Students may enroll and take these courses at South (see Steps to Enroll)
