As a service to applicants to the Licensed Practical Nursing Program, this page will feature necessary information about this year’s admissions process.  Applicants are encouraged to check here regularly for updates.

Applications for the Summer 2008 LPN program are due no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2008 by 4:00 pm.  Applications that are incomplete or that arrive after this deadline will not be considered.  Please turn in all parts of your application together in one envelope.  Applications should be dropped off at Room 141 in the Technical Education Building, or they may be mailed to the following address (please note that mailed applications must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2008):

South Seattle Community College selects its LPN students based on a competitive process.  There is no waiting list for the program.  Official notification of application results will be sent to all applicants in mid-May.  Your patience is very much appreciated.

Important Dates for the Summer 2008 LPN program:

• February 2008 - Summer 2008 LPN Application will be available on the webpage.
• March 28, 2008 - Financial Aid deadline for priority consideration for Summer Quarter 2008. If you plan to apply for Financial Aid, we advise you to apply by this date even though you will not yet be accepted to the LPN Program.
• April 1, 2008 - Applications are due to the Nursing Program Office (Tech Ed 141) by 4:00 pm.
• April 11,16, or 17, 2008 - All applicants are required to take a reading assessment exam on the South Seattle Community College main campus.  Please bring a Picture ID Card, a Scantron form (#882-E), a pen, and #2 pencils. Contact the Nursing Program Coordinator in the Nursing Office to reserve your date on a first-come first-served basis or for more information: (206) 768-6889. Time: 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Test will begin promptly at 2:00pm. Note: If you have taken applied previously and taken the reading assessment exam, you do not have to repeat this step. If you are unsure, please contact the Nursing Program Coordinator.
• May 15, 2008 - Official notification about application results will be sent to all applicants.
• June 5, 2008 - For accepted students: register and pay $150 deposit.
• June 12, 2008 - For accepted students: paperwork due. (Paperwork will include current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, background check (instructions to follow), required immunizations, physical exam, and current CNA license with the state of Washington.)
• June 23, 2008 - First day of Summer Quarter and the start date of the LPN Summer Class of 2008.
• June 2009 - Graduation of the LPN Summer Class of 2008.
