Overview
Non-native speaking immigrants can take intensive and semi-intensive English as a Second Language classes in literacy beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. ( Non-immigrants should take the Intensive English Program (IEP) courses available through International Programs.)
Conversation, pronunciation, reading, writing, grammar are taught in a combined skills core class with special emphasis on the skills for survival English and employment-related English. Teachers will help students choose specific skills to supplement their core classes.
These are limited, open entry classes. Before entering the program, students must take the required English language placement test.
Class Schedule
Please look for the "English as a Second Language" (ESL) courses in the current class schedule. ESL Level 1 Literacy; ESL Level 2, ESL Level 3, ESL Level 4, ESL Level 5 and ESL Level 6 are offered.
Classes are typically available at the West Seattle SSCC campus, our NewHolly site on Beacon Hill and High Point Elementary School in West Seattle.
