Accounting is often called the language of business. Accounting majors learn how to keep financial records and prepare reports and statements to support businesses.


For most students wishing to transfer to a four-year university to major in Accounting, the Associate of Business degree is the right degree for you! As always, you need to check in with an advisor to ensure the degree and courses you are taking will prepare you for your specific goals. Students in this program will learn how to classify, analyze, record, and interpret business transactions, how business operate and why certain business decisions are made, and gain computer skills and experience through the use of general ledger and spreadsheet software.

Degree Information

Students wishing to transfer to a four-year university to major in Accounting will need to complete either the Associate of Arts or the Associate in Business degree. Most students complete the Associate in Business degree as it includes all the business prerequisites, as well as the Accounting courses.
