Tuesday Tips for Nov. 13, 2018

Undecided on a major? Check out the free info sessions below:

  • South's Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) program will host an info session November 13 from 12-1 p.m. in CAH 201.
  • If you’re applying to a business school at UW Bothell or Milgard at UWT, this workshop on November 19 from 11:15-11:40 a.m. will take place in RAH 216. There will another session from 12-12:30 p.m. in the same room to help students get their questions answered and to get relevant information from the UW advisors.
  • Learn more about South’s two-year (six quarter) Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Hospitality Management degree program on November 20 from 6-6:45 p.m. at the Northwest Wine Academy (NWWA) at South! Get one-on-one help with your application, ask questions and get connected with financial aid resources on campus.
  • For other events, check out the campus events Facebook page!
  • Bonus Tip: Thinking of dropping a class? Not so fast! Before you do, check with the Financial Aid Office at RSB to learn of the consequences and next steps. Schedule an appointment with Financial Aid here. Keep in mind students need at least a 2.0 grade in their English, Math, and Science classes to take the next level of courses. Track your grades in Canvas and communicate with your instructor to get tips and see how you can pass the class. Students who wish to re-take a class may need to pay out of pocket and may not be covered by their funding source.

Word of the Week: Dean’s List – An academic honor for students who have 10 or more credits/quarter and a 3.5 quarterly GPA.
