Tuition Reduction Announced for Domestic Out-of-State Students

Great news for the new year is here! Starting in January of 2016, domestic non-resident and out-of-state students can enroll at South Seattle College with significant savings on their tuition. For example, most non-resident or out-of-state students taking 15 credits will have their fee dropped from $3,080 per quarter to $1,500 per quarter!

What was formerly known as the WSECU Advising Center has a brand new name, thanks to WSECU (Washington State Employees Credit Union). As of October 23, South Seattle College's Advising Center is known as the WSECU Advising Center. Since 2013, WSECU has made substantial contributions to the South Seattle College Foundation and has been an active supporter of the 13th Year Promise Scholarship.

South Seattle College announced today that it has been selected to participate in the Pathways Project led by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). South Seattle College student David Yama was named as one of the top scholars in the nation by earning a spot on the All-USA Academic team, as announced by the National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, on April 20. Yama is the first student in South's history to earn this honor.

Holiday Weekend Closures

A statewide IT project will take many of Seattle Colleges’ computing services offline during the Presidents Day weekend. Services will be unavailable between Friday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 5 a.m. All systems and services should be fully operational for Spring Quarter registration on Feb. 17. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our online services beyond the Feb. 13-17 scheduled times. However, we will notify you as soon as possible if one occurs.
Gifts From The Earth

South Seattle College announced tonight that the annual Gifts from the Earth fundraising event raised nearly $215,000, a new record in its twelve-year history.  Proceeds from the event benefit South's Foundation in its mission to support South students and programs with scholarships, internships, emergency funding, tutoring and more.
