South Seattle College’s 2017 Gifts from the Earth fundraiser raised $273,000 - a new record in the event’s fourteenth year. Proceeds from the event benefit the South Seattle College Foundation in its mission to support programs and students with scholarships, internships, emergency funding, tutoring and more.
ACT Transforming Lives Award

South Seattle College graduate Marady Duong was awarded the Washington State Association of College Trustees (ACT) Transforming Lives Award in Olympia on Jan. 23, 2017. Marady received a $500 cash prize along with four other students selected from community and technical colleges across the state.

Starting Wednesday, Nov. 30, Metro Routes 125 and 128 will resume service to South Seattle College’s main campus bus stop located to the west of the Robert Smith Building (RSB on the campus map). The temporary stop located near the Northwest Wine Academy in the north parking lot will no longer be in service.

Cancer. It's the diagnosis that no one wants to hear, and no doctor wants to deliver. But, that's the diagnosis that South Seattle College student Dulce Saucedo was given at the age of 14. A tumor had developed in her brain that was so large it would develop into one of the most lethal forms of cancer. Her doctor ordered an emergency surgery.
