How to contact the ITS team
We realize that your first couple of weeks on campus can be challenging. The IT Services hour of operations is 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Therefore, if you need help with computer problems or with your accounts and passwords, please contact us:
Email: sscchelp@seattlecolleges.edu
Web: http://sscchelp.southseattle.edu:8081
Phone: (206) 934-5844
If you forgot your email password, you can reset it yourself by logging on to https://inside.seattlecolleges.com/adtool/. Once you click on the "Reset My Email Passphrase" link, you will need to enter your email alias, SID, & PIN. Note: This password is case sensitive and is valid for 180 days.
How long does your request generally take?
Once a trouble ticket is created, you will get an automated email from us. We usually work our tickets on a First-In / First-Out basis. The sanctioned exceptions are for areas where the student experience is involved or when a large number of people are affected.
Depending on the work in our queue and the nature of the problem, your request may take a few minutes to an hour for those with direct student contact. Because we must balance our First-In / First-Out with priority service calls, the response times for other requests will be longer.
To order a computer, a lot of paperwork and coordination involved. It can take a couple of weeks for an order to be placed and received on campus. We then need to schedule the install with our work order database. New computer installs often have a lower priority.
Things to remember
Please do not:
- Log on to a computer with your account for someone;
- Write your password down on a sticky note and post it on the monitor;
- Share your password or hide it under the keyboard or in pen drawers.
Keep in mind about ‘scams’ or ‘phishing’ in that we do not ask for your network or email login information, and notifications that the district sends will come from a .EDU domain, i.e.: SCCD.CTC.EDU or SeattleColleges.edu
Please remember to log off after using a classroom computer. When you login with your account in a classroom, you are connected to your “My Documents” folder, so-called the H: drive, and your departmental folders.
Student’s print credit limit is 325 pages per quarter. If students run out of print credits before the quarter ends, they can buy more credits at the cashier office. Student’s print balance is reset every quarter.
Students can check their printing balances at http://printing.southseattle.edu:9191/.
As always, for the first two weeks, we accommodate students, who need extra time to resolve registration and funding issues, by allowing them to use a temporary generic account: student/Student to login to computers in classrooms or labs, except the Library Open Lab. However, there is no printing associated with this account.
