The Center for International Education at South Seattle College provides English assessment services for students and community members as they look to measure their English ability. We currently offer two assessments which are used worldwide in evaluating English proficiency:

  • TOEIC
  • iTEP

To sign up for the TOEIC assessment, complete the registration process through the TOEIC website (https://toeicrts.ets.org/WebRegistration/toeic/StartPage.html). On the day of the assessment, signs will be posted around campus to notify test takers of the location of the assessment.

To sign up for the iTEP assessment, contact the Center for International Education at cie@seattlecolleges.edu or 206-934-5360. Test days and times are subject to availability. Please be prepared to provide the test taker's full name and date of birth, as well as contact information.

Students planning to study at South Seattle College are not required to take these assessments as part of their admissions requirements. Students entering the Intensive English Program (IEP) will be guided to take the ESL/placement assessment as part of their orientation process. Learn more about the placement assessment through our Student Assessment Services webpage.

NOTE: South Seattle College does not accept TOEIC or iTEP scores as placement into academic courses. Please see our English Proficiency webpage for more information.
