As an F-1 student it is YOUR responsibility to maintain your F-1 status while studying in the United States.

The Center for International Education Office at South is dedicated to educating our students on their requirements to maintain their F-1 Student Status. The CIE office offers advising appointments with immigration specialists, workshops throughout the quarter along with the International Student Handbook and on-line resources.

Our website can provide you with additional resources on the basics for how to maintain your F-1 status, employment options as an F-1 student, travel and how to regain your legal status if needed.

The CIE Immigration Advising Staff are trained specialists that are committed to assisting international students and the campus community with the intricate federal regulations and campus policies for our F-1 non-immigrant students. The CIE Immigration Advisors are available by phone, email, or in person at the Center for International Education Office (WWB 121). If you have any concerns or questions regarding your F-1 status please schedule an appointment with the CIE Office to meet with an immigration specialist, Designated School Official (DSO).
