Important Information for
2016 - 2017

Many new and exciting changes are beginning in the Financial Aid Office, changes that will help you navigate the financial aid process and ensure faster awarding.

  • Students must now accept their financial aid awards within 30 days of the date listed on their AWARD LETTER.  Students can either accept the awards on the Student Financial Aid Portal, or can sign, date, and return the AWARD LETTER to the Financial Aid Office.  No exceptions will be made to the 30 day acceptance deadline so students should check their email often.
  • The South Seattle College Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy has been updated with new and important information.  This update will take effect for the 2016-17 Academic year, and can be found here and the Satisfactory Academic Progress page to the left.
  • The MISSING DOCUMENT LETTER is now being emailed to students if South Seattle College has received your FAFSA information.  Follow the directions on the letter carefully to use it effectively.
  • Financial Aid Deadlines for each quarter are listed below.  Students must have a completed file by this date to be held in their class.  Note: a student’s file that becomes incomplete after this deadline will no longer be considered to have met the deadline.  A file is considered complete when all requested documents and corrections to the file have been submitted and made.  Students that meet the deadline will be held in their classes through the 50% refund period each quarter, after that date, the student is responsible for any charges remaining on their student account.
