Special Instructions for Enrolling in the:
Career Link Academy
- If you are between 16 and 21 years of age and left high school without a diploma or have a GED and need additional training, then the Career Link Academy can help you plan for your education and future career. The Academy is a unique program featuring skills training, job placement assistance, and GED preparation.
- The Academy operates on the same quarter schedule as does SSCC. Tuition for students in the Academy is free and support is available for transportation, books, supplies, and work-related needs. In return, students are expected to attend the Academy classes at least 80% of the time, or for at least five hours between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Short-term skills programs are available in the following areas: automotive service technology, hospitality and food service, computing/office administration, welding, and diesel preventative maintenance.
If you are interested, the first step is to attend a Career Link Academy Orientation session. Call the office, 206-934-7946, to ask for the date, time, and location of the next orientation session. Registration for the Academy is open throughout the quarter.
