Student Success Services is one of more than 700 TRiO programs nationwide that are funded by the U.S. Department of Education to promote academic achievement among disadvantaged populations. TRiO programs help students overcome class, social &: cultural barriers to higher education. In addition to Student Success Services, South has two other highly successful TRiO programs ~ Upward Bound and TRiO Talent Search.
Students may qualify for services if their family income is low, if they are the first generation in their family to attend college, or if they are disabled. Qualified students receive assistance in:- Applying for financial aid
- Transferring to four-year universities
- Searching for scholarships, and locating other funding resources
- Tutoring in the C.L.I.C.
