Gifts from the Earth
Gifts from the Earth is the South's signature event, which highlights our Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management and Wine Studies programs. Proceeds from the event support the SSCC Foundation, which provides student and program support like scholarships, tutoring, classroom equipment and faculty development.

Culinary Arts
Open House
Tour the facilities and learn about South Seattle Community College’s highly regarded Culinary Arts program at a free Saturday Open House/Information Session. You’ll learn about degree and certificate options in Restaurant & Food Service Production, Catering & Banquet Operations, and Pastry & Specialty Baking. Information will also be available about the college’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Hospitality Management (BAS) program.
Program faculty and staff will be on hand to answer questions about program admission, career opportunities, and student services to help you succeed.
The Open House is free and light refreshments, including pastries prepared on campus, will be served. Advance registration is required; call (206) 764-5344 to reserve your spot.
Time: 9:30 am

Nursing Information / Orientation Sessions
Learn about South’s nursing career paths at a free orientation session. Nursing program staff will be on hand to answer questions about program admission, career opportunities, and student services. Please note that attendees must be on time to be admitted to session. The CNA orientation is mandatory in order to enter the CNA program.
Students with limited English skills or students who need to review basic skills in writing or math should ask about the Healthcare Pathway Program, which is designed to help them make the transition to college level programs and to succeed in Health Sciences careers.
Times:
The CASAS exam, required for entry into the NAC program, See the schedule for dates or call for time and location. NAC program begins fall quarter.

Honor Roll Reception
Please join us in acknowledging the academic achievements of our students at our quarterly Honor Roll Reception. Students who have earned the designation of President or Dean’s List will receive a certificate and recognition from Dr. Jean Hernandez and campus community members. University of Washington Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education, Dr Ed Taylor, will also address students and guests.
Refreshments will be served.
* President's List: accumulated 30 or more credits and achieved a 3.8 or higher cumulative GPA
* Dean's List: earned 10 or more credits for the quarter, and achieved a quarterly GPA of 3.5 or higher

20th Annual Rainbow Festival
The Office of Student Life is excited to have you join us.
Rainbow Fest is our way to showcase the diversity of our community at South Seattle Community College. We have live music, dancers, crafts workshops, cultural foods. We will also have keynote speakers and workshops that delve into issues of economics and social justice.
