Governor Gregoire released proposed 2009 supplemental (for 1-1-09 to 6-30-09), 2009-11 operating and capital budgets. |
Governor’s budget lists a 6% reduction in State funding for community colleges. The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges estimates the actual cut to be 6.5%. The cut would be 4.3% in the current fiscal year (2009) and 1.1% in 2010 and 1.1% in 2011. Also, her proposal gives authority for a 5% tuition increase in 2010 and another 5% increase in 2011. |
