- On May 4, 2008, SSCC participated in the first Sustainable West Seattle Fair.
- On May 15, 2008 SSCC hosted Dr. Andy Frank, father of the plug-in electric car.
- On June 19, 2008, South hosted the E3 Washington Sustainability Summit, featuring SSCC President Dr. Jill Wakefield as a panelist.
