Tuition Waiver
Registration Procedure Waiver Form
Employees of Seattle Community College District and employees of Washington State who work half-time or more may register for up to 6 credits each quarter for a $20 processing fee. The waiver is for state-funded courses only.
Employees in the K-12 systems are eligible for the WA State Employee Waiver with verification that they are teachers or certificated instructional staff employed at public common and vocational schools, holding or seeking a valid endorsement and assignment in a state-identified shortage area.

Exceptions to the WA Sate Employee Waiver:
The Occupational Teacher Education program and Continuing Education courses are not covered by the agreement.
- A full-time faculty member is not eligible to use the waiver for first aid courses.
- This waiver cannot be used for Distance Learning WAOL classes.
Enrollment is on a space-availablilty basis. Students are responsible for any additional charges such as ID card, fees, parking, books or supplies. You may check enrollment status of classes via the online class schedule.

If you believe space will be available in the class, follow the procedures below:
- On the first meeting date of class, let the instructor know that you hope to register on
a space available basis. Ask for permission to visit the class while awaiting determination of space availability.
- If there is space available in the class, you may officially register between the 6th through the 10th class day of the quarter.
- Bring the completed state employee space-available
tuition waiver form and your enrollment form with the instructors signature to the Registration Department.
- Inform the instructor that you have registered. You may need to show your registration receipt to your instructor for verification
A completed tuition waiver form is required each quarter.
The form requires a signature from your employer stating that you are currently employed half-time or more by the state of Washington.
