Transportation Careers Program Information Session
Transportation-related industry among largest employment sectors.
Learn about South Seattle Community College’s new Transportation, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management program. The short-term, 19-credit program is designed for working adults who want to gain practical and relevant skills to enter the industry, and professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge. The program covers all aspects of the industry, including airport and seaport operations, supply chain management, domestic and international freight operations, and transportation and border security.
Two courses are being offered winter quarter:
LOG 237 Supply Chain Management
Examines the global supply chain with emphasis on supply sources, distribution, production planning, inventory and warehouse management, and supply chain relationships.
4 credits Tuesdays 6 – 9 pm January 5 – March 16
LOG 238 Domestic & International Freight Operations
Focuses on critical issues facing transportation companies, including freight operations; air and surface modes; inbound and outbound logistics; private and public policies; and customer, employee, citizen, and shareholder expectations.
