The Landscape Horticulture Program at South Seattle Community College is a vocational program offering a one-year certificate, an
Associate of Applied Sciences degree, and training toward a number of professional certificates.
|
The program is housed on the edge of the Arboretum. Besides the Arboretum, the facilities include classrooms, a greenhouse, cold frames, a shade house and a retail garden center. See the Garden Center web page for plant sale schedule and hours.
|
Student projects have included the construction of large cold frames, the design of new gardens,
the installation of gardens, the construction of hardscape features and irrigation systems, and garden renovations. |
An example of a student's special project is the bridge designed, built and installed by student Chay Nuygen.
